Synopsis

The Mind Set

This is a very simple (fickle) mind set.  If according to some simple technical analysis the security seems to be  rising in value with time then I "like" that security, and the parameters for "liking" that security are explained in simple technical analysis terms.  If the security seems not to be rising in value than I "don't like" that security!

Blue Chip

Heavily traded securities that are the favourites of all the full priced stockbrokers and these securities are usually in the portfolio of most Fund Management portfolios.

Cyan Chip

Not so heavily traded securities that are the not yet the favourites of all the full priced stockbrokers and these securities could soon become Blue Chip, or just be fading away!

Green Chip

Lighter traded securities that are the favourites of the shorter term traders.  In time these securities, if they continue, will become Cyan Chip securities of the future.

Orange Chip

Smaller stocks that are showing potential to be big and turn into Green Chip securities.

Red Chip

'Penny Dreadful' stocks that are often the favourite of the day trader mentality.  All these are less than about 12 c and may have reasonable trades.
